Dewsbury Bus Museum

At our open day this year we had a visit from a recently restored AEC Regal with Harrington bodywork. New to Birch Brothers in 1964, this superb coach, ALD 29B, operated a mystery tour for us, taking in some spectacular scenery.

We left Dewsbury, and travelled via London and Kent to the coast, where our visitors had chance to watch a show on the pier and do a spot of paddling and sunbathing.

On the way home we called at a traditional real ale pub, and got safely back in just under three minutes!

We were fortunate to have the services of famous actor John Junkin, who managed to drive the coach so expertly at high speeds on unclassified roads.

One of the passengers looked amazingly like Marty Feldman!

It has been suggested that we repeat the experience at our next Open Day in November. We're still undecided about that.......
