The event, on Sunday 11th March 2012, will start at 10.30 am and run until 4.30 pm.
A free shuttle service will operate from Dewsbury Bus Station every 15 minutes, starting at 10.30 am. Full details of which buses will be operating each journey will be published in the Souvenir Programme. The buses we plan to operate are pictured above.
Free trips to Charlotte's Ice Cream Parlour in Whitley. This is located at the highest point within the Dewsbury boundary and has spectacular views (weather permitting!) They also serve delicious coffee and the best home-made ice cream for miles. Times and vehicle allocation will be in the Souvenir Programme.

Display of visiting buses. If you own a preserved bus, there is no charge to bring it along. If you're willing to operate a journey or two on the shuttle service we would be delighted. Please telephone 0844 504 0085 or e-mail admin@dewsburybusmuseum.co.uk so we can save you a parking space. Visiting buses will be parked in the Kirklees Special Education Centre car park on Havelock Street (see map below).
Admission prices are still pegged at only £1.50 per person (includes a Souvenir Programme). Accompanied children (primary school age or younger) will not be charged.
Souvenir Programmes, entitling the holder to admission into the building, will be on sale at the door, or from our bus conductors on the day. This full-colour booklet contains the timetables and vehicle allocation as well as information about Dewsbury Bus Museum and the buses taking part. If you want to plan your bus journeys, you can order yours in advance.

Remember to include your address. Programmes ordered in advance will be posted out at least 6 days before the event.
If you have a disability - the museum building is all on ground level, and there are no steps. Accessible toilets are available in The
Royal public house, next door, and also in Subway in the Retail Park opposite, (for customers) as well as Dewsbury Bus Station.
A wheelchair-accessible Arriva bus will operate journeys on the shuttle service at the following times:
From Dewsbury Bus Station (via the Bus Museum to Havelock Street): 10.45 am, 12.40 pm and 3.00 pm.
From Havelock Street (via the Bus Museum to Dewsbury Bus Station): 12.15 pm, 2.45 pm and 4.30 pm.

Travelling by bus? We will be running a frequent free shuttle service from Dewsbury Bus Station, which is served by the following Arriva services: 126, 127, 128, 202, 203, 205, 212, 253, 254, 268, 278, 282, 283, Additionally, services 202, 203, 253 and 278 pass Dewsbury Bus Museum. Timetable information for these services can be found on www.wymetro.com
Travelling by train? Network Rail are carrying out "essential" maintenance on Sunday 11th March, so trains on the Huddersfield-Dewsbury-Leeds line will be diverted via another route and will not be calling at Dewsbury, or any other stations on the line between Leeds and Huddersfield. Network Rail will be providing replacement buses to Dewsbury Station, connecting with trains at Leeds or Huddersfield. It is less than a five-minute walk from Dewsbury Station to the bus station.
Travelling by car? We are situated on the A644 between Dewsbury and the M62 (junction 25). If you are using Satnav, you should enter the postcode WF13 3JR. You are advised to park in Ravensthorpe Retail Park, nearby. (There will be parking restrictions in force around the Museum building in Foundry Street and also in Havelock Street by the bus parking area).
Travelling from Sheffield? JB Tours will be running a trip on Plaxton Expressliner 1 bodied Volvo B10M registration G105 ETJ. This coach was new in 1990 to Amberline of Liverpool, later passing to Yorkshire Woollen District for use on their National Express services.
