WE'RE FAMOUS!  (updated 22nd December 2009)

The magazine "Bus & Coach Preservation" has released an 88-page end-of-year special addition, featuring an article about Dewsbury Bus Museum. There are full-colour photos of our buses (and two of our members!)

Retailing at £3.75, it is worth buying the December edition just to read our article. (However, the January edition is now out, so it may be hard to track down)

BIRTHDAY BOY'S SURPRISE

On Saturday 26th September a group of enthusiasts from London treated one of their members to a surprise tour of the area, to celebrate his 40th birthday.

Jason Bird grew up in the Wakefield area, but has lived "down south" for many years.

Expecting a modern minibus, imagine their surprise when they emerged from Westgate Station to find "Ethel" waiting for them.

A great day was had by all, especially John Alexander who made his debut as conductor for the day.

Many happy returns, Jason!

ETHEL ON TOUR!

Our Leyland Tiger took part in this year's Arriva Tour, visiting Arriva depots in Heckmondwike, Dewsbury, Wakefield, Castleford and Selby. The event raised £717.04 for The Sick Children's Trust - full details and links to pictures are on www.arrivatour.co.uk.

Thanks are due to driver Colin Poole, and the other people who took part.

Member Paul Goldthorpe's Atlantean poses with Ethel at Wakefield.

OUR FAME IS SPREADING!

Tim Crowther from Heckmondwike never even knew there was a Bus Museum in Dewsbury until his friends in HUNGARY told him about it, when they found this website!

They were so impressed that they travelled to England this April and visited us, with some more friends from Austria. And imagine their delight when we visited Arriva's depot and found a yard full of Ikarus vehicles!

Left to right: Elke Rath (Austria), Tim Crowther (UK), Debora Bala'zs (Hungary), Ga'bor Nyerges (Hungary) and Michael Huber (Austria).

The Dewsbury Reporter Extra published this article on 28th May, following a similar article with more pictures in The Dewsbury Reporter on 22nd May 2009.
