SNAPSHOTS
Have you seen a rare or interesting bus with a West Yorkshire connection anywhere? If so, why not take a photograph and send it to us (in jpg format, please)? You can do this from the "CONTACT US" page. Don't forget to tell us where you saw it, and as much information as you can.
This part of West Riding Leyland National 137 (MUA 882P) was spotted in a children's adventure park (Wonderland) near Nottingham by Tony Salmon. It was previously used as a driving simulator in the Transperience museum in Low Moor, Bradford. This establishment has now closed down.
PAUL SALMON has contacted us after seeing these pictures of this bus. He writes:
I can offer a bit of additional info on your snapshot of 137 MUA 882P. This came about after 137 had been involved in a fire which destroyed most of the bus along with Leopard 9 HWY 725N and i think VRT 830. The "cut-and-shut" was made using some parts of 137 and a former Northern General Transport National UUP 829K which had been bought for spares. It was done to give an opportunity to apprentices to learn their welding skills. Also at the same time WR had a Plymouth Leyland National 142 SCO 428L which had also been withdrawn, and its ID was attached to a tool box - I wonder if that still exists too?
Arriva's Heritage Dennis Dart 186 (P186 VUA) is seen in Rotherham last December in company with Yorkshire Woollen 622 (HD 7905), a Leyland dating from 1948 that was originally based at Dewsbury.
